Alain Gagnon : Complete Works for Solo Guitar

An organist, composer, painter, gardener, cook, and poet, Alain Gagnon left his mark as a truly accomplished artist. He found his own voice and language, as reflected in the coherence of his creative identity across both his musical and pictorial work, marked by surrealist traits. With this collection, I wish to pay tribute to a friend who, near the end of his life, told me he was in his “guitar period, like Picasso in his Blue Period.” In these mature works, he shares a vision of modern man, at times serene, at times troubled, caught between the contemplation of eternal nature and the anxiety of time passing, health fading, and life flowing away and slipping inexorably through his fingers.
